More later, but just a quickie few photos…another ‘life ambition’ achieved today – went sperm whale watching and it surpassed all expectations…even for the tour company!!…SIX up close and personal encounters, as well as seeing 4 or five others…AWESOME…as in they ‘inspired awe’…not the American way in that choosing what to order in a restaurant is “awesome”..!?..
The vessel…70km/hr top speed catamaran..!!..
Sperm whale exhaling..you only see this first third of it’s body as the rest is under water…
…until it dives..!!..
Pretty close to shore – probably only about 3 or 4 nautical miles offshore – the continental shelf drops to 1000m just off the coast…apparently one of the few places in the world it does this and the reason for so many whales close in…
Normally you’re lucky if you see 2 or even 3 whales…we saw SIX up close, and there were even two together at one stage..!?..pretty mental…very lucky…
There were also lots of albatrosses flying around too…which was pretty cool…
Anyway, let’s hope my luck holds tonight for the Liverpool Man U game…

i know you dont often see more than one or two at once but I saw four at once and it was awesome yes truly awesome all witnin the space of 90 mins not in the water but on a lovely flat green field. So we’re not talking whales here, right, what could be more awe inspiring than that you ask,why four LIVERPOOL GOALS AT OLD TRAFFORD now that is truly awesome.I’ts unfortunate that your photos of the whales coinsided with the drama at old trafford maybe in about 6 years time when the excitement has worn off about the 4-1 I might log on and have a look at those magnificent pictures on your blog again.good to hear from you don’t forget to tune in for the draw on friday for the champions league which we might win again?
These comments are placed by a completely unbiased liverpool fan and sent to another toatally unbiased liverpool fan. Honestly.
