OK, so I’m now in Melbourne staying with Rory and Sarah. I’ve been here since last Sunday and have generally just been having a lot of craic. Rory’s brother, Che is also staying over Christmas, and another couple of their friends have just arrived so it’s all fun and games…I’ll just stick up photos of the Great Ocean Road for now though…don’t want to spoil you just yet…
Ok, just this one photo…beer and bbq is becoming a bit of a theme in Melbourne…
So the Great Ocean Road is a 2 or 300km stretch of road that funnily enough runs along the coast from just outside Melbourne towards Adelaide. It’s basically a scenice drive punctuated by lots of little towns where one can stop for tea…and boy did we stop for tea…Australia i s pretty good for it’s tea actually…but I digress…Fred (the Swiss guy remember – keep up) was in Melbourne so we had decided to hire a car and drive it on Tuesday…he overheard a girl in his hostile enquiring about bus tours up the coast and convinced her it would be much more fun to go with us..!?..and then Che (Rory’s brother) also went…so four of us in a nice automatic car – I think I drove 600km so the lack of gear changing was good! Right, less chat more photos…
The A-Team – Leen, Che and Fred
Lots of views like this…
No this is not at a zoo! About half way along the road there is a little town called Kennet River, and the place is literally just coming down with Koalas!?…this one is just sitting in a tree beside the path…personally I think they are ugly….and they don’t really do anything at all, but hey – you can’t go to Australia without seeing a Koala …
Beautiful people and alright views I guess…
One of the highlights is the “Twelve Apostles” – big rocks that have become separated from the shore over time with wave action. Pretty cool – here’s two of them..
A beach…
So there you have it…the Great Ocean Road in 6 photos…doesn’t really do it justice, but hey what are you going to do…Fred is now away which is a bit wick, but I guess this is what happens when you go travelling – lots of fleeting relationships where people become your BEST FRIEND for a week and then you don’t see them again..!?..
I may have said at the top of this post that I am in Melbourne – well I might have been when I started it yesterday but I am now actually sitting in an internet cafe in Adelaide having just flown in ridiculously early this morning to meet Sally…who incidently is not answering her phone…hmmm…

Still very jealous mate… but I’ve got your voice going round in my head. Not as weird as it sounds! Tune FM is on at the moment and we’re still playing the advert for the fruit shop you recorded a few years ago! Something about how you like squeezing oranges…? Safe travelling

Very beautiful…especially the ‘Twelve Apostles’ (even if we can only see two). Beers and BBQs are not just a Melbourne thing…wait until you get to Des and Deb’s place…they do a nice BBQ.
Merry Christmas from Marty & I. x

“… been having a lot of craic.” Bahahahahaah you’re funny and you didn’t even know it.
So, I totally told you there are only like 3 apostles left…. and you have no proof to defeat me cause you only have 2 in that picture. I was right!!!!
